Scott Dixon

Scott graduated from John Marshall Law School in 1978 and has since helped residents of Illinois and Missouri with Social Security Disability and Social Security Income. He is a member of several professional associations, including:

If you live with a physical, emotional, or mental disability that has prevented you from engaging in substantial, gainful employment for a year or more, Scott can help you apply for Social Security Disability benefits or appeal a denial of benefits.

John J. Johnston

John J. Johnston concentrates on Bankruptcy Code, family law, and foreclosure and loan modification assistance. He has been practicing since 1979 and has received bar admissions from the State of Illinois, the U.S. District Court Southern District of Illinois, and the U.S. Court of Appeals 7th Circuit. He has held significant positions in several professional organizations, including:

· Board Member of the Illinois State Bar Association Board of Governors
· Former Chair of the Illinois Bar Association's Bar Publications Board
· Former Editor-in-Chief of the Illinois Bar Association's Bar Journal
· Former President of the Bankruptcy Association of Southern Illinois

Like his partner, Scott, John has also received the AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell®. He published an article titled "Family Law and the Bankruptcy Code" in the Illinois Bar Journal in 2006.

John is an expert at helping individuals and families in Illinois navigate the complicated legalese of the state's bankruptcy and foreclosure laws. If you're considering bankruptcy or are going through a divorce, he can show you how best to strategize and protect your assets.

When not practicing law, John enjoys doing charitable work. He is on the Board of Directors for the St. Clair County Children First Foundation (formerly President), and he is also the former Pastoral Council President of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Christopher Smith

Christopher Smith is an associate of the Dixon & Johnston Law Office. He was admitted to the Illinois State Bar in 2006 and the U.S. District Court Southern District of Illinois in 2010. Having the opportunity to study under established attorneys Scott Dixon and John J. Johnston, Chris has chosen to concentrate on Bankruptcy Code, Social Security Disability/Income, and family law. He has served in many professional associations, including as assistant state's attorney for St. Clair County's Child Support Division and treasurer for the Children First Foundation.
